Steven-Knight-Forever-2

The journey for singer/song writer Steven Knight began in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia . Knight, the 3rd child from a family of 4 siblings, developed a love for music very early. His earliest memories of singing included everything from choirs and choruses, to things as simple as mock concerts he would put on for his family for fun. As he grew older, Steven continued to nurture that gift and develop his craft when he joined his high school show choir. Though Knight possessed an immense amount of raw talent, this experience would assist in developing the amazing showmanship and stage presence he is known for today. As time passed, Steven began writing and recording his own material, and while attending Virginia State University , he would participate in various talent shows and music projects.

Upon graduating from college, Steven relocated to Atlanta, GA to take advantage of the budding music scene there where he would network and increase his visibility. Three months after moving, Knight caught the eyes and ears of Atlanta-based Independent label, God Dynasty Entertainment, and was signed shortly thereafter. During this time, Steven obtained management and began working with Vocal Coach, Donis of Marvelous Entertainment, respectively. With these new endeavors on the horizon, Knight began recording and developing his distinctive sound while also making a name for himself around the Atlanta area through performances at various showcases. Knight parted ways with GDE in 2007 to pursue other opportunities, but has continued performing and recording vigorously in hopes of taking the industry by storm.

The music business itself has been a diligent teacher for Steven Knight, guiding him through many obstacles, while providing valuable lessons along the way. Throughout his journey into the industry, Knight continuously encountered broken promises and pipe dreams that never seemed to work out. Though discouraging, it lead Knight to do something he had never done before, take complete control of his career. Knight decided to fund and develop his own project, which would in turn showcase exactly who he was as an artist via his ideas, unique style, and signature sound. To assist with production and recording, Knight enlisted the help of local talented producers, writers and engineers. His current music stays true to Knight’s roots and many musical influences that fans have come to love, but it also reflects a new sense of urgency and struggle, no doubt a product of the many trials he encountered along the way. What the future holds for Steven Knight is yet to be determined, but one thing’s for sure, the best is yet to come.

Daniel-Laurent-MASSterpiece

Daniel Laurent also known as DL made a name for himself on the New England Hip-Hop scene in early 2005 with his hit single “MASSterpiece (The Anthem)” (also called simply “The Cheers Song”) In the song, DL metaphorically travels Boston’s streets, subways, and popular nightspots with an ultimate tribute to his hometown. It was the lead single on J. Saki’s Best of the Bean Vol. 2 mixtape and it gained massive response during Wildboy’s Best of the Bean show on prominent radio station Hot 97.7FM. He garnered consistent rotation on commercial, college, and satellite radio stations, including Boston’s JAM’N 94.5, HOT 97.7, WERS 88.9 and WSBF 88.1 South Carolina, WNYU New York, and WRFG 89.3 Atlanta. It quickly became the single with the heaviest rotation by any local or national artist in WERS 88.9 history! He’s appeared on more than ten mixtapes and earned copious media praise.

Later that year, DL re-released his debut “Can’t Get A Break” with bonus tracks, exclusive remixes and a re-master of his hit “MASSterpiece (The Anthem).” From here, Self Made Entertainment emerged. The re-release sold very well regionally and even had international sales thanks in part with alliances with Australian radio alliances. Responding to public demand, Self Made Entertainment persuaded retail relationships in New England and Los Angeles to carry the record. Among a plethora of reviews, articles, and a prominent radio presence, DL won the 2005 Outstanding Achievement in Song Writing award from the Songwriters Resource Network for his smash single “Contagious.” His success landed him opportunities to open for national artists including Royce da 5’9, Devin tha Dude, and Joe Budden, to name a few.

DL later reinvented himself with “The Suppression”, released at the end of 2006 with a bonus DVD, offering conscientious, timeless tracks. Born in Roxbury, Massachusetts, DL has lived in New York and South Carolina before returning home. He endured desperate times within his family: crime, incarcerations, drug addiction, lack of stability and the murder of his best friend and fiancée – all before the age of 18. Through it all, DL persevered through the written word.
Since releasing “STILL Can’t Get A Break: The Digital Epidemic”, an exclusive online album, he has also released 2 music videos, a plentiful amount of viral performances and interviews and appeared on more than a dozen other artists projects as well as maintaining a consistent college, commercial and satellite radio presence. DL is now working to release his best work to date and has gone back to the core with releasing “MASSterpiece 2.0”
